Itinerary
Days 1-3
Amritsar to Delhi
We depart from London on our flight to the Indian city of Amritsar, arriving in the late morning on Day 2. Tonight we visit the breathtaking Golden Temple, a stunning Sikh holy shrine. On Day 3 we enjoy a guided tour of Amritsar before we board our evening train to Delhi.
Days 4-6Delhi, Agra & Lucknow
Today we are introduced to Old Delhi and New Delhi with a guided tour. On Day 5 we board the train to Agra, where we visit the Agra Fort before a sunset visit to the magnificent Taj Mahal. On Day 6 we travel to Lucknow, a key city of the British Raj.
Days 7-9
Lucknow & Varanasi
Today we visit the famous La Martiniere Boys’ School, the magnificent Imambara and the moving British Residency. On Day 8 we journey by train to the sacred Hindu city of Varanasi, where we experience sunrise during an unforgettable boat ride on the Ganges on Day 9.
Days 10-12Kathmandu
We fly to Kathmandu in Nepal today where we visit Boudhanath Stupa, the largest Buddhist Stupa in the world. On Day 11 we visit the Durbar Square and enjoy a dinner at Rum Doodle Restaurant. On Day 12, we see Pashupatinath Temple before we travel west to Chitwan National Park.
Days 13-15Chitwan National Park
Today we enjoy a wonderful Jeep safari through the jungles and grasslands of Chitwan National Park, as well as a canoe ride on the river. On Day 14 we drive back towards the Himalaya on a picturesque journey to Pokhara, which you are free to explore at leisure on Day 15.
Days 16-18Pokhara & Lake Phewa
Today we drive to Sarangkot, where we witness a beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas. We continue to Pokhara, visiting Devi’s Waterfall and the Gurkha Museum, before a sunset cruise on Lake Phewa. On Day 17 we drive to Kathmandu, and on Day 18 we fly back to London, via Delhi.
