We’ve loved every minute so far, and tonight's episode features a number of the sights and experiences featured on our Royal Indian Odyssey tour. This holiday is a once in a lifetime adventure uncover the astonishing human and natural beauty of this wonderful country.
Itinerary
Days 1-2
To Amritsar
We depart from London and fly to Amritsar, via Delhi, arriving on Day 2. After checking in to our hotel, we venture to the Golden Temple, where we witness a traditional Palki Ceremony.
Days 3-4Amristar to Delhi
We enjoy a guided tour of Amritsar this morning, featuring the Jallianwala Bagh Gardens, an important memorial site. This evening, we venture to the Wagah Border, to witness the ceremonial lowering of the flags on the border of India and Pakistan. Day 4 we fly to Delhi.
Days 5-7
Agra Fort, Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri
We take a guided tour of Delhi today, where we are introduced to Old and New Delhi with a guided tour. On Day 6 we travel on the Shatabdi Express to Agra where we see the Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal, and on Day 7 we see Fatehpur Sikri and the Keoladeo National Park on our way to Jaipur.
Days 8-10
Jaipur and Jodhpur
Today we see the stunning Amber Fort and enjoy a guided tour of Jaipur. On Day 9, we visit the Hindu Pilgrimage site of Pushkar on our way to Jodhpur where we take a guided tour including the famous clock tower. We see Mehrangarh Fort and the Rajasthani village of Bishnoi on Day 10.
Days 11-13Ranakpur and Udaipur
We visit the Jain Temple of Ranakpur and then head on to Deogarh where we stay at the Deogarh Mahal. On Day 12 we take a journey on the Deogarh metre-gauge train before heading to Udaipur. We take a guided tour on Day 13 before embarking on an evening boat ride on Lake Pichola.
Days 14-16
Mumbai and home
We fly to Mumbai today where we enjoy a sightseeing coach tour of the city. On Day 15, we visit the Prince of Wales Museum and Mani Bhavan, which Gandhi used as a headquarters. We continue to the Elephanta caves on Elephanta Island. On day 16, we fly back to the UK.
